Uddingston Grammar School is a mainstream state school located in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is one of 17 secondary schools operated by South Lanarkshire Council. Its motto is 'Virtute Crescam' which means 'May I grow in moral excellence'. The school was opened in August 1884. The school's catchment area includes the communities of Uddingston, Bothwell, Tannochside, Viewpark and recently parts of Newton. It was located by Uddingston railway station. In 2009 Uddingston Grammar moved to a new school building as part of South Lanarkshire Council's school modernisation programme. The new school building was built on the old school playing fields located in Meadowbank flood plain, after a number of local objections to the suitability of the site. Work commenced during July 2010 by developer Barratt Homes to turn the old school site into homes. Whilst most of the building was demolished, the old maths department remains as apartments, it is a Grade II listed building. The school's roll is approximately 1,078 pupils as at September 2013 with approximately 90 teaching staff (FTE). ==Attainment== Uddingston Grammar School consistently outperforms or maintains the average attainment for schools in South Lanarkshire Council and Scotland. Approximately half of students enter higher education upon leaving the school. The school has a smaller proportion of students who receive free school meals in comparison to average for South Lanarkshire Council and Scotland as a whole. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Uddingston Grammar School」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
